Aqua Aerobics

If you’re looking for a good all-round form of exercise, our Aqua Aerobics sessions are just the thing for you, as they provide a low-impact workout on the joints and are great for endurace, muscle tone and strength.

 

Aqua Aerobics combines the calorie burning benefits of aerobics with the therapeutic properties of water. Running, jogging and water walking in a pool is the ultimate low impact, high cardio exercise that will develop cardiorespiratory fitness and strengthen the legs and hips. The water acts as a cushion for the body’s weight-bearing joints, reducing stress on muscles, tendons and ligaments. As a result, aquatic workouts can greatly reduce the injury and strain common to most land based exercises.

 

Our Aqua Aerobic classes are delivered by fully qualified instructors and run at various times throughout the week, so please contact our admin team for an up to date timetable.

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy is the use of water for pain relief, therapy, rehabilitation, and exercise. The unique properties of water, including; temperature, the decreased effects of gravity, the effects of buoyancy, and hydrostatic pressure are used by qualified professionals to enhance the recovery and rehabilitation of clients with a wide range of conditions.

 

There are many benefits to hydrotherapy. Hydrotherapy can decrease pain and swelling, increase function, strength and range of movement. It has been shown to improve mood and sleep in some, fitness and weight loss in others.

 

Above & Beyond Swim School works in conjunction with a number of local physiotherapists to provide Hydrotherapy classes in our private, well maintained pool that is heated to 33°C year round.
